Abe Opperman Gallery is proud to present the latest exhibition from Abe Opperman “…times and tales of the unexpected”.
Following a warm and inviting greeting from the Franschhoek community and its visitors, the Abe Opperman Gallery will be expanding its space at its current location at 11 Huguenot Street, Franschhoek allowing for new art and ideas. The latest exhibition, “….times and tales of the unexpected”, is a continuation Abe’s inspiration drawn from his childhood and observations of the complex and everyday South Africa.
The concept of time is portrayed through his often whimsical expression by seeing each canvas as a frozen moment in the tale of our everyday lives with a deep desire to pay tribute, albeit subtle, to his African roots. Within this exhibition are colourful three dimensional shapes that offer a greater tactile experience of his characteristically thickly textured canvases.
We look forward to welcoming you on this journey and discovery of “time” through Abe’s art which speaks visually of his wishes, dreams and memory.
